I hope that you will vote for me to be a Superior Court Judge on the Alcovy Judicial Circuit on May 19, 2020 in the Non-Partisan General Election. My aim as a Superior Court Judge is to hear each case in a fair and respectful manner, to render timely decisions based on the facts and governing law, and to ensure that hearings and trials are conducted according to the law and our constitutions. I am committed to applying my experience to the cases that come before the Newton and Walton County Superior Courts fairly and respectfully, showing neither favor nor bias so that justice under the law may be done.
A judge must have experience, be fair and respectful and be committed. With over 30 years handling court cases in both state and federal court, I have the necessary experience it takes to be a Superior Court Judge in the Alcovy Judicial Circuit for Newton and Walton Counties. I thoroughly understand the nuts and bolts of the trial process, and how important it is for a case to be litigated efficiently, fairly and in accordance with the law. My legal practice has been wide-ranging, and my broad and deep knowledge of the law will compensate for this circuit’s loss of three judges who all had substantial experience as practicing lawyers in private practice before taking the bench: Samuel Ozburn, Horace Johnson, and Eugene Benton. I am following in that tradition where a lawyer serves the community as Superior Court Judge after having first served his community as an attorney as well as volunteer.
